I don't think it affects it that much (check out Marvin Benard and Alex Sanchez). How much farther does it allow you to hit the ball. Three feet? You still have to hit it, does it help you do that?

not going to argue that Bonds isn't the best baseball player of his era.
However, there are a ton of factors that allow a great hitter to be successful. Bat speed, hand eye coordination, great eyesite period
AND STRENGTH. Those extra 3 feet you talk about is what turns a long fly out into a homerun. It is strength which allows a hitter to fight off a nasty pitch to
GET THE CHANCE to slam the next pitch out of the ballpark.
Steroids are not going to turn a scrub into an MVP but I don't underestimate the advantage that it gives a player who has a ton of talent to begin with.
