Anybody know anything about or dealt with this company? I'm about to apply for a job with them.

I applied for a job with them bout 7 years ago.. didnt get it...

on the flip side, i'd be wary.....i hear bad bad bad things bout them...

do a google search on them.. you will come across many horror stories about the company, and their crazy lopsided contracts with bands, artists not getting paid....

enough to scare me off from wanting to deal with them.

Lump,

I know f-all about OIM, but I prefer your old avatar, 'Man ensconced in walnut'. Good luck on the app, though.

I came across the orchard earlier this year doing a search for a friends band, Auburn Lull. Their first CD came up on a site it might have been emusic.com with The Orchard listed as the label. I asked one of the guys about it and they didn't know what it was and didn't think anything of it. He thought maybe it was the label's online distributor. A few months later he tells me that the label is in a tangle with the orchard because they didn't have rights to the music. I haven't asked my friend what ended up happening with it. The CD was originally put out by a small now defunct label in Michigan and they hadn't ever had any written contract but had a verbal release from the label's owner. Good times.

I was wondering why I hadn't heard of them before, given that they've got a couple of semi-big industry names behind them. Thanks for the linkie.

I've gone avatar crazy, and will be changing it every few days, 'cause I have nothing better to do with my life.
