when you import dics into itunes, what format do you use and at what bit rate?
i'm wondering iof there's a preferred format and rate - i always used mp3 at 160 kbps, but i'm wondering if i should go higher with the bit rate or use aac instead?
i will eventually succumb to the ipod nation, and for now, i dont want to do a whole bunch of importing i'll want to do over in 2 oir 3 months.

I do the max (196 kbts)...

It really does make a difference soundwise...and it's loads better than aac..

we already went through at lot of this here. my personal choice is aac.

I stick with 192 kbps mp3s because not everything recognizes aac. Mp3 is pretty much universal. Aac is more compressed and more space efficient, but the files can only be read by iTunes/iPods, I think. If you're just ripping things for an iPod, use aac, but otherwise do mp3s.
