Will any of you be around? Anything cool going on in town? Art, music, etc?

Yeah I'll be around. I'll check to see what's shaking.

Stu is the man, Chicagoans. Don't pass up the chance to meet him. He kept me company in 28 degree weather waiting to get in to the Arcade Fire show at Bowery Ballroom, despite the fact that he already had a ticket.

There may be some bowling this weekend, but it's undecided at this point.

Family obligations will most likely keep me from meeting you, Stu. Damnit. But... you know, it's fucking cool being a Dad.

Update: I will no longer be around much this weekend, and I'm not happy about it.

It's free, but it's a little ways. Forest Park. About 20 minutes west of downtown.

It's here

I'm actually playing in both bands that night, The Get (a new four piece outfit I play bass in) and The Three Fifths, my own band. All in all the music goes from about 9:30 to about 1am

What's the name of the venue? If I can drag my g'frnd away from Chicago, we'll be there.

It's Molly Malone's pub. Good old fashioned Irish bar with great food.

'twas a great weekend in Chicago. Basically was a neighboorhood tourist. Stayed in Lincoln Park, but ate, drank, listened to music, shopped in: Downtown, Bucktown/Wicker Park, Boys Town, Lincoln Square, Roscoe Village, Andersonville.

Saw Mark DeNardo, Tobias and some other guy at Empty Bottle on Sat. night. We missed Proswell and Kim Hiorthøy because lady friend was tired.

Missed a screening of Mondovino at Music Box and was pretty disappointed, but when you are a guest in a town, there is only so much you can control. Also missed a seemingly very interesting photo exibit at Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College due to the above reason.

Thanks to Aaron and Spencer who recommended bars for Sunday night, but we ended up not going to any due to girlfriend being tired and things being out of my control. I will hit Schuba's next time I'm in town.

This is my 2nd visit to Chicago this year, the first being when Lake Michigan was frozen over the 2nd week of January. When it is warm, the city very welcoming and friendly and I loved the neighborhoods.

She's constantly having to take Dexadrine (she has a prescription for ADD) to keep up with me. I'm a night owl, I haven't really figured out what she is yet.
