You know it's not often I don't know something (ha!) but I didn't know who Samoa gained independance from. So I looked it up and it turns out Samoa belonged to Germany and then was passed to New Zealand before it became achieved independance.

So there you go. You learn something new everyday.

It's interesting to note that today Northern Soul listened to what are widely considered two of the most disappointing albums of the millenium (though I have heard neither all of the way through).
