L'il Majick?

Naah, my homeboy Griff was actually allergic to her in 2002. She would walk by his desk and he would have a sneezing fit.

Marist College Poll
Nationwide
April 18-21, 2005

"If the 2008 presidential election were held today, whom would you support if the candidates are [see below]?" N=838 registered voters, MoE ± 3.5

Jeb Bush (R) 38%
Hillary Clinton (D) 55%
Unsure 7%

Take some GOP talking points and throw them in the ring and use them effectively for your own cause. Contrary to the beliefs of some, a more liberal candidate will only get shelled.

Based on the fact that only 2 of the 9 democrats in the primaries were genuinely left-wing (Kucinich & Sharpton), I think what the Dems need to do is simply get tougher and more focused on each issue instead of trying to be Bush-lite. People had no idea where Kerry stood on the issues because he was trying to play on both sides of the fence.

Honestly, if the Dems actually stood for progressive economic principles and backed off the gay marriage and gun control issues, they'd do a lot better. Unlike Europe, this country is extremely religiously fundamentalist and you have to take that into account in your campaign.

I don't want to keep repeating it, but the media is biased towards corporate interests and right-wing economic policies, so of course the republicans have a huge advantage in that regard.

I wish Mario Cuomo's name would come up for President. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the man.

Cuomo' beyond American politics. He's actually a decent, rational human being.

By the way, I hope my representative, Sherrod Brown (video) runs for a seat in the senate someday and then the presidency.

question: is jeb popular enough in FL to win it?

i assume he is since he's been elected there. if so, that's one big swing state solidly in the REP camp; whereas hillary should win NY, but NY usually favors DEMs anyway.

He had a legitimate shot at one time. Now I don't think so. Don't think he would want it anyway.

Good man, though.

I almost wrote in David Ortiz for Prez last fall, but it occurred to me he'd probably tap Kevin Millar to be his education secretary or something. And that'd make Dubya look like Hawking.

Read your history books, son. Only two men went from Senate to White House in the 20th century: Warren G. Harding and John F. Kennedy.

Senators do not become Presidents.

I was going to say governor, but Ted Strickland (D - OH) was going to run in 2006 instead.

Brown is young though, so he still has plenty of time to climb to the top.
