oh, come ON! That album is worst piece of tripe ever! I'll admit to still owning and occasionally listening to Gish and Siamese Dream, but this one is awful.

To each their own I guess. I mean it is obviously bloated, but there are many good songs on there. I don't listen a lot, but sometimes it is good, especially if CRANKED.

Technically impressive, maybe. Artistically, a sham. Admittedly, much of my hate for this is backlash.

Man, I'm glad somebody else agrees with me on this one. Luckily I was able to sell mine for pretty much what I paid for it. As for backlash, I kinda feel the same way. Some writers I really respect seem to love it.

dude, i love this album. wow.

Yes, I actually own this on vinyl. And apparently I loved the song "What do you Get a Wookie for Xmas (When He Already Owns a Comb)" a whole lot as that entire band is worn down. What can I say, I was young and in love with Star Wars.

Yeah it's a great album. Who cares if it's 'artistically a sham' or whatever, it's a damn fun record to put on (which I haven't done for awhile admittedly)

Unfortunately, my list of sucky albums owned is probably phenomenal. I do keep a stack of cd's that I always mean to resell back to the used shops, but alas, they NEVER want to buy them back... apparently everyone else hates those albums too:

Smashing Pumpkins - "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness"
Paula Cole - "This Fire"

either your taste is fucking exquisite, or you're getting some records mixed up.

I own both of these and enjoy them both. I think Paula Cole gets a bad wrap sometimes because of Dawson's Creek. I think she's extremely talented. I wonder if all these bands on the OC soundtrack will suffer this same fate. Hopefully not.

I remember bought this record before hearing them. I just remember telling me how good it was. I was so pissed after I bought it.

I just listened to all the Smashing Pumpkins back to back and I'm surprised how good Machina and Adore sound to me now, so Mellon Collie is probably my least favorite. But it has high points that are fucking phenomenal (Lily, By Starlight, Take Me Down, To Forgive, Muzzle), I can't believe there isn't a Candlebox or something this guy owns.

(the second Candlebox is probably my vote. Or 2 Legit 2 Quit)

That D4 album is tripe, but since I swapped it with my mate for a beer I can't list it in this thread

Oh, he does. It might be on cassette but he does own it and did buy it when it was new. Between the two of us we have some horrible stuff from back in the day. Here's another of mine that I think I have somewhere:

Which, "6Twenty" ? It's not the greatest thing ever made, but there's some fine tunes to be had there. "Rebekah" is solid, and the Scavengers and Heartbreakers covers are well-chosen and well-executed. What's not to like? It beats the crap out of a lot of other recent stuff such as The National or Muse.
