Wu-Tang Clan
Sandwiched between Atari Teenage Riot and Rage Against the Machine, I didn't expect much, as is the case with most rap shows I've seen live.
Sound was incredible, not too bass heavy, no extra hype-men or yelling on stage, a fantastic stage setup that had guys coming out of different doors and windows and different parts to interact with the show, like a cop car that would spin the lights from time to time.
It was like the ODB version of a play, except he wasn't there.
They were OK when I saw em, but granted it was at Lakewood Amphitheatre. Then Rage came out with a Goddamn Soviet Sickle and Hammer flag behind them and I pretty much just sat down and tried to make it end as fast as possible.
I saw Cypress Hill sandwiched between Pharcyde (whose set we missed because of an ATL ice storm) and 311 (who were on the end of their run of 2 good albums) and Cypress was pretty much just Stoner rap at this point, came out and blew the joint up.
Also, Squad 5-0, whom I saw with (I)NC, divisions of Laura Lee and some other Swedish band brought it so hard they pretty well ruined the rest of the concert. I later saw the singer in the crowd and we talked about Georgia football, cos they're from Savannah. I tried to talked to him about the show, and he was all like "Thanks man, how do you think the Dawgs are gonna do this year?"
