Yeah, that ending was really damn good. They played their hearts out on that one.

And they are probably the only band I've ever seen get a third song at the very end.

U2, for me, is slipping into the vast wasteland of poor pop music. It wouldn't surprise me if he was lipsyncing.

Maybe I am missing the complete message of the song because I have yet to hear the whole thing. However, I am left with a curious look on my face at the value of U2 and the music they make. Don't get me wrong, I respect Bono immensely, especially for the things he has done outside of his music (i.e., meeting with the pope, etc.). Unfortunately, the music is nothing of what it used to be.

Also, SNL has not come on on the west coast yet. I will be watching it shortly.

Yes. I've been a fan since 1980, but just because something's loud doesn't mean it rocks. This one justs tries to rock, doesn't pull off an actual...err..song...in the process, though.

I don't know what the whole CD will sound like, but for me, and my tastes, I prefer the rolicking, stripped down, irish energy, over the previous couple of albums.

i've always thought of them the same way i think of them now. interesting and yet incredibly uninteresting. i like to know what they are up to, and they are very talented but in the end every single album they have ever made bores me. i just can't make it through an album without wanting to turn it off. I've felt this way since before joshua tree came out.

missed them on SNL, but i've been listening to the new album quite a bit over the past weeks, and i'm really enjoying it.

and yes, vertigo DOES rock.
