I think it could be pretty good. Hell, everyone jizzed over Ray and I didn't think it was all that great.

My big concern is non-Southern people acting with Southern accents. They usually don't realize there isn't one big Southern accent a la Fried Green Tomatoes, but they can vary even within states. Fake accents in general are pretty bad, unless it's an Australian or Briton doing an American accent. Like McNulty from the Wire.

This reminds me of Americans doing Shakespeare. Ugh. We need a cringe emoticon.

I couldn't fucking agree more. Hell, there is a different dialect from from extreme North Georgia to extreme South Georgia. North is Appalachia and has a lot of hard consanants and hard "I's". South is much more of a drawl and a bit more "plantation".

Hell, as long it's not Kevin Costner doing another "JFK" accent I'll probably watch this.

I generally hate all depections of the South in movies. Listen fuckers WE HAVE AIR CONDITIONING, and have had it for quite some time. There is a new movie with Kate Hudson called Skeleton Key which is takes place in Terrebonne Parish (where I live), and I saw the trailor. Ridiculous depiction.

It's no different now - people trying to outdo ! each other in extremes. There are people who like X, and there are people who say X are wimps; they like Black Flag.

Shit, we pioneered air conditioning down south. Northerners flirt with a/c, but in the south it's life or death. That's the sneakiest problem with weather up here in WI... when it gets HOT, like now, there are plenty of public buildings that don't have a/c, because it's expensive to install something that only gets used for just 2 or 3 weeks a year. But brother, those are a hot few weeks.

Fake accents are the epitome of gar. They never turn out right, kinda like Corey said, unless its a Brit doing "American."

Renee Zellweger's accent/acting almost ruined Cinderella Man. I actually had to try to not listen when she talked, so the movie could remain good.

olbulee, I saw that trailer of which you speak and almost started laughing in the theatre.
