Hey, Chicago people... I'm a little pissed that I won't be in NYC for the Old 97's/Bobby Bare Jr. show, but I will be in your fair city. Are there any shows worth seeing? Citysearch turned up nothing. Anything else I should consider?

Mouse On Mars are highly recommended to see live. I really enjoy them, one of the few electronic acts I can handle in a live situation.

My roommate's band is headlining Abbey Pub. I kind of want to go check out Ivy at The Double Door. And no matter what the nay-sayers say, you cannot fuck with Tributosaurus. it's all of Chicago's hottest session players kicking ass once a month. I remember when they did they transformed into Wings, complete with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. At one point there was 27 people on stage doing Live And Let Die, and it was fuggin amazing!

No, i just copied and pasted what was on metromix. I recommended Fly Mantell, Ivy, and Tributosaurus.

I wandered into the Double Door with Jesse for Ivy's soundcheck, and I'm in love.

Damn they're good.

But Fly Mantell's show tonight = Free on the pubside of the Abbey, so that is where i will be.
