Wow. This a great slice of high-octane power-pop. It won't be difficult to commit this to memory at all. Reminds me of Stairwell. And a little bit of A.

anyone else digging this?

not to be a jerk or anything...but i always get a kick out of people that post a question that asks RIYL.

first off did you check allmusic.com (influences + sounds like).....

not to mention being that you are on a computer - read some reviews for the album (google search)

every band nowadays posts mp3s on their website - did you check that....

unless you really are not interested and are just trying to boost up your post count......

I did mention a couple of references up there... but here you go:

RIYL: Stairwell, A, Inbreds, Fountains of Wayne

some songs on this album sound like a teenaged Sting singing for The Killers on speed, pixie sticks and red bull. And I don't mean to give you the impression that MCS fall into that whole Killers / Bravey retro scene, because they don't. they are definitely more of a modern pop /punk type of thing. But they do have some moogy keyboards washing over the saturated powerchords ...

Not to be a jerk or anything, but I always get a kick out of someone who mentions a band and only says "this is good stuff" without any frame of reference. Maybe I want to hear your take on it. Yeah, I can look it up, but...maybe I don't care to...?

good point to some degree "Dusty Chalk".......but then again, it takes 2 seconds nowadays to find anything and get a sample. and if you are that lazy - i feel sorry for you.

i usually look around first.

in this case, i checked a couple reviews & couldn't find an riyl. allmusic is denying me based on my company's pooled IP (doesn't seem like it's for commercial use to them or something). haven't heard a sample yet, and can't check sl.sk til i'm home from work. i couldn't find sample(s) on motioncitysoundtrack.com. plus i like to hear what people here have to say.

I agree. I like to hear what people have to say. I mean, what else is a music forum for, if not expressing your take on music?

onto track#4 and it reminds me of some pop-"punk" band, like wheatus or eve6 crossed with conventional alt-rock-pop like rasmus. not sure how much more i'll listen to...

Sounds like generic alternative pop music to me... just like they sounded years ago. Never been impressed.

definitely nothing revolutionary about it. Catchy as hell though. I'm going to enjoy the ride for a couple of weeks until it burns out on me :)
