neil young, mmj, johnny cash are all great suggestions and are going on the mix.

swervedriver might be a little too heavy for the hippies.

i'm also thinking magnolia electric co, gomez, modest mouse, built to spill, bonnie 'prince' billy....

keep up the suggestions...it's really helping me figure this out.

I'm too lazy for tracks, so here are some albums to pick over.

Cracker :: Cracker
Stephen Stills :: Manassas
Billy Bragg & Wilco :: Mermaid Avenue

What about the new Crooked Fingers or Okkervil River?

Also no mention of Bob Dylan, though I'm not a huge fan.

i'm a big dylan fan, but i know my buddy can't stand him. he's a tough one to sit through if you really don't like him at all.
