euclid, vintage vinyl, the record exchange, and sound revolution are/were all good record shops. i only remember that vintage vinyl is way out on delmar near the pageant and euclid is probably on euclid avenue. i don't even know if they're all still around, though.

We arent renting a car.....we booked our hotel right near the stadium, so hopefully everything is within a decent bus or cab ride...

Eat Imo's pizza.
If there's a good show at Mississippi Nights, it's a pretty cool small venue.

Will put it on the list...

Chevelle is playing tommorow night, but the game wont end till probably 10:30-11...and it may be a stretch trying to get their in time..

i did a pollstar search and there really wasnt much else that interests me.

Busch Stadium isn't too far from Laclede's Landing and Miss. Nights – maybe a mile at most. You could probably even walk there if you're with a native or two.

Take the bus to U-City & go to Vintage Vinyl IT IS THE BEST! See if anything is playing at the Galaxy as well as Mississippi Nights. If you have free time, go to Forrest Park and go to the FREE ZOO or ART MUSEUM - both are exquisite, as is the science center, the Magic House ('specially if you have young-un's) or the bowling hall of fame (f'real)

if you are by the stadium, you can also waste time at union station, but I'd try to find something/somewhere else to go/be

just got back....

hmmmmm....

Yanks lost 2 of 3.....not good.
it was hot as balls every day, although we did have anice little rain break Sat night.....
stumbled upon EVERCLEAR playing a radio fest for 101.1 under the train tracks at 'Mccledes' landing? that was kinda cool.
Our hotel window had a perfect view of the arch.
The food wa ssuprisingly not great. we went to a few places that came reccommended....best thing we had was domino's delivered to the hotel room last night...

vintage vinyl was good..nice selection...had most of what they had and i liked, but did manage to leave with some goodies. streetside records down the road was closed.....

went to the presidents riverboat casino and left up a few bucks....

hmmm.not too much else....my dad gets tired easily, so we didnt over do it.....but overall a success...

SO... you didn't try or didn't like Imo's? I have such fond memories of that stuff. But I admit that it is not for everyone.

Damn. If I saw this, I could have recommended some shite. There's good food in STL, but you have to know where to find it. It certainly isn't at Laclede's Landing. (Which BTW is what Tweedy was talking about when he said, "I used to go see on The Landing in the summer.")

Todd's recommendation of Imo's was good. We have those here in Columbia now. Not sure if they were here when you were in school Todd.

never made it Imo's......

first night, we went to a place right near he stadium called "****** pasta house" (forgot the name).....not good at all....we were warned bout the cheese in st. louis whatever that means....

saturday, we went to a seafood place in between macledes landing and the presidents casino....als, just alright...

and on sunday we ate at the blueberry something, near vintage vinyl....
defenitely not the highlight of the trip....

it was very cool seeing the new stadium being build right next door to the old one.....btw, why a new stadium? the current one seems fine, despite the lack of air in the place.

Building new stadiums is the way of the world. Unless itss a classic (Wrigley and the like) it's coming down. Busch is a great stadium, but I can see why we need a new one.

I've been to Busch several times and while I'll go so far as to call it "utilitarian", I wouldn't call it "great".

Even in the best seats in the house, you feel detached from the action... there's a lot of open space between the fans and the field and, of all the stadiums I've been to, Busch is the one that feels the most like you're watching the game on TV. (Apart from the Cardinals fans, of course, who are great.)

A cool new stadium in StL. could make an already baseball-crazy town into the freakin' Green Bay of MLB. And I'm saying this as a Cubs fan!
