What about that horrible song from the equally horrible movie "Streets of Fire?" "On the Dark Side?" Was that it?

Also:
Puttin on the Ritz - Taco
One Night in Bangkok - Murray Head
Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone - Glass Tiger (heard this one on that damn show last night)
Somebody's Watching Me - Rockwell

Isn't that from Eddie and The Cruisers II?

Am I thinking of the same song? It's like a Bruce and The E Street Band ripoff right?

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. A Springsteen imitation so cartoonish that it makes it hard to listen to Springsteen.

Ed is the worst.

That girl from the Cranberries gets a little outta control sometimes.
Zombie and a few other songs that sound exactly the same.

Oh, and Gavin from Bush. Ugh!

When I think of over the top vocals for some reason the first thing I think about is people over-singing the National Anthem.

I fucking hate it when people think they can whip out their best Boys II Men/Whitney Houston impression when singing it.

Just sing the fucking song like it was written. This isn't American Idol you no talent hack!

One of my main pet peeves of this era. Christ, I was at a funeral a few months ago and the biatch singer went all American Idol on "Amazing Grace". I was ready to frisbee the Book of Psalms at her.

That's fucking disgusting...it's bad enough at ball games, but a funeral? Oy.

The sad thing at ball games is that after 5 minutes of "the banner yet wayayayayayayayayayayayayayave" all the retards in the surrounding seats are always all "maing, she was GOOD".

Every vocal on the first Pearl Jam record.

and thereafter, just Vedder's voice style I guess, though Ten was quite in your face at the time, which I dug.

Some later Peter Gabriel songs get above gospel intensity, deliberately, cerebrally, nearly forgettably if not for the ambient production behind his vocals.
