Yeah, pretty good draft for the Hawks:

Marvin Williams
Salim Stoudamire

Can't complain. They look great on paper but you never know. We may come to regret not taking Deron Williams or Chris Paul because we desparately need a PG. (we desperately need a lot of shit)

I predict that half the players in that first round will be out of the league in less than two years.

Does anyone else feel bad for some of these players who have been listening to the wrong people and came out too early?

I was just watching it late last night and was just thinking about all of those guys that went in the 2nd round that thought they were going to shock the world and take care of their families, etc. They may not even make a squad and will be lucky to be playing in Greece this time next year. Makes me actually like the new age minimum to be drafted rule.

Louis Williams comes to mind. Considered by many as the best high school player in the country, he went 45th(?) to Philly. I'm a little bitter because I wanted him to come to UGA for a year but he was talking about late 1st round as 90% certain. Who is telling him this shit? He could haved helped himself tremendously with one year of college.

Nice take there, Sparky the Sportscaster.

I'm betting on the come with M. Williams that he can be the franchise player that the Hawks have needed since we shipped Dominique to the Clippers; If Stoudamire can keep his head on straight (not easy for a rich, young, black, pimp in the A (aka Black Hollywood), he can definitely shoot the lights out. We basically have 18 billion dollars in cap space. We need a center. We need a 1.

And who wants Al Harrington? Big ups Al, but your time in the A is probably over sir.....

I liked Hodge until he got hit in the balls. Okafor was going to play center this year anyways, and I think they'd rather have Okafor at center and May at PF for the next year than any other center in teh draft and Okafor at power forward. That is all of course if May is even better than Ely.

I think my friend put it nicely: "Hodge got hit in the nugs and now is playing for the Nugs."

I still think Primoz should remain at center and Okafor stays at PF and they should have drafted a 2 or 3. Primoz is a serviceable NBA center and has only been in the league a few years.

I still think May is soft, but he had one heck of a NCAA run, so who knows what he will do in the league. Still think he is soft, though.

I'm stoked about Bogut..The Bucks finnally have a decent big man. Now if Redd stays and T.J. Ford can ever recover..I like that little nucleus. They need some more help at PF though.

that's true...he's got potential, and he's still pretty young too. I'm not convinced quite yet though.

Also, did you guys catch the promo for NBA Live 2006? It's gotta be on the XBOX 360, because the graphics look sick.

Please take this circus back to Charlotte. Combine the Bobcats and Whorenets and get a decent team for the people in NC who care.

No. Leave them be. But get rid of the ludicrous notion of "jazz", e.g. dancing, in Utah, and bring the name back to New Orleans. Give Sloan, et. al., the Hornet name.

As Utah is the "Beehive State", anyway, it would just seem too appropriate, though. Even a league as savvy as the NBA is still a sport league, i.e. not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

But I think I am repeating myself.

I'm pissed that the Spurs didn't draft Salim Stoudemire. Bro's a cold-blooded assassin of the highest order. I know they've had tremendous success with foreigners, but I'd have rather had an NBA-ready pure shooter than a volleyball-playing Frenchman.

You guys have Duncan and Emanuel locked up through 2010 and Parker through 2011----I think you can afford to take some chances.

Congrats BTW on the championship----your sissies actually stepped it up in the end.

We finally had the first postseason game in our six year old new arena this year!!!!arena football

Yet the gameplay still looks like shit. Basketball video games are so awful.

Considering that first rounders get guaranteed 3-year deals i doubt 50% will be out of the league in less than 2. Most guys drafted in the first round are young and being drafted on potential and size. Teams will give them more than two years because they already have to pay them. It's unspectacular veterans that'll be out of the league while these kids collect first round money.

I think the Bucks draft was solid. I'm happy.

Hate to see Turiaf go to the Lakers.....hopefully he makes the squad.

according to reports he was a potential first-rounder/lottery guy but an ankle injury scared teams away. 6-8 sf/pf who could be very solid on the front line for the bucks in a few years.

Ditto. I would have liked to see him go to Seattle. There's no doubt he makes the Lakers.

What do you think of Nate the Great going to the Knicks in the first round? Martell Webster to Portland at 6? Damn---to think how good the Huskies would have been if Nate had stayed for his senior season, and Webster had honored his committment to the UW.

They'll still be pretty damn good next year, and WILL beat the Zags! (for the first time in 5 years)

I'm glad for Nate because i wasn't real sure he'd even go in the first round which would have been tough considering he came out early. I'll also glad for the Zags. I won't miss seeing him next year.

A little early to make bold predictions but I have confidence that the Zags newcomers will make UW sweat again. It should be another great game. I had a chance to talk to Adam Morrison at Hoopfest in Spokane last weekend but really had no reason to talk to him. If he keeps it up he'll be a high lottery pick next year.
