I always have my doubts about live albums, but am definitely interested in checking this out. From TMT:
Quote:
The decade-old IDM duo will be releasing its first live album, besides existing beloved bootlegs at least, on Sonig Records in the fall -- no word yet on the street date. Rather than highlighting a single performance however, Live 04 will translate the creme de la creme of various sets into a nine-track CD. The material was chosen by the band from over 600 hours of performance on their jaunts through Europe, Japan, and the US last year in support of their most recent release Radical Connector [TMT Review].
The record will compile a wide range of tracks including the recent "Wipe That Sound" off Radical Connector, "Diskdusk" from their 2000 superhit Niun Niggung, and "Frosch" off of their 1994 debut Vulvaland, making it read almost like a greatest hits album. A QuickTime video of "Wipe That Sound" and a 20-page booklet will be included in the mix as well. The album will also feature robotic live drummer Dodo Nikishi, who further links mechanical and physical presences, enhancing the machine-like quality of the band's sound.
