Bernard Hopkins/Jermain Taylor

Pros:
-I have nothing better to do
I- love boxing
-My gf has gone out for the night and even when she gets home, she isnt talking to me anyways
-Should be a kickass fight plus the undercard looks decent.

Cons:
-60 bucks is a lot of money
-I already have HBO and will be able to see it for free next week

hmph

oh, i'd even throw a sheet of plywood up beteen the recliner and the couch so we wouldnt have to actually communicate save an occasional fist pump.....

but yeah, the only 2 dudes locally who would split it are both up their wives butts tonight sooooooo. S.O.L.

if I switch from wine to Vitamin V, I'll end up getting drunk ordering it and then regretting it when I get the Comcast bill.

actually a good fight on tv and a keg sounds pretty awesome. i wonder how the woman will feel when she wakes up from her nap and i've not only blown off her friends but purchased an insane ammount of beer and a brutally violent fight. hmmm.

Speaking of boxing, check this story out.

From ESPN.com

LOS ANGELES -- A boxer who fights under the nickname "The Harlem Hammer" will stand trial on charges that he used a hammer to kill a sports writer and then torched his Hollywood apartment.

Judge Kevin Brown ruled Friday there was enough evidence to try James Butler Jr. on charges of murder and arson.

Sam Kellerman, 29, was found dead in his apartment on Oct. 17, 2004, and police said at the time he had been killed about five days earlier. Kellerman's car was missing and a hammer was found not far from his body, police said.

Kellerman, a freelance writer who covered pro boxing, was the younger brother of Max Kellerman, host of Fox Sports Net's boxing program "I, Max," authorities said. Butler and the sports writer were friends, and Butler had been staying at his apartment since late September.

The 32-year-old Butler has a record of 20-5. He is best known for sucker-punching opponent Richard Grant in November 2001 after losing a charity match.

I guess it would be in poor taste to point out the irony of the murder weapon?

Can we get some kind of pay-per-view webcast where we watch you and your old lady throw down later? Because that seems like a more interesting fight.

I live in and out of the dog house. I am not longer allowed to say,"what are you gonna do? Divorce me?"

it started when we were still at the bar. Basically I was sick of talking about her job. Mistake #1.

Then when we got home, it just sort of escalated to the point where she was just looking for a fight b/c I'm not that hard to goad into a good screaming match (im sure this is shocking news to all of you). Anyways, I basically said "look we're etc, etc.

actually that's not a bad way to play it. you went on damage control, dug a fire-blocking trench, and put that shit off. i think that it could have gone a lot worse. i would have tried to talk it out until we'd gotten to the point where i admit that i don't give a shit about her little job.

well there was a part where she said that she was leaving and unlike usual (this surprisingly enough has happened before) i didnt go after her or say, "No, you're too drunk" So basically she walked outside and came right back in.

In retrospect I think the die was cast when we were still at the restaurant: She wanted to ask them if they would rinse out our wine bottle so that we could take it home (she wants to do some sort of four way vase with cool shaped wine bottles--don't ask)

Anyway I felt that it was classless and wouldnt let it happen.

My dos centavos -- ordering a 60 buck fight when only one person is gonna watch = waste of money. God made fights to watch with pals and drink booze.

i think that the problem now is probably that we didnt really deal with it today.

I got up and started doing shit, she slept half the day and then left to run errands; when she got back i was in the middle of making sauce (which btw--i just pulled up making sauce starting with tomatoes that I grew; i'm pretty proud of meself), she took a nap and then left to go out with the "girls"---which means a dude named Dexter I would imagine.

The BBQ at her mom's tmrw should be stellar!!!

Let's call this foreshadowing.
