5. Packt Like Sardines in a Tin Box
6. High and Dry

I want to know why so many love "You and whose army?" I can't stand that song. It just drags on and on in this seemingly endless drone of nasal non-enunciation. Drives me nuts, can't listen to it.

"Electioneering" I like, however.

I think it's mostly the fact that it's so painfully beautiful. And then when the drums kick in at 1:53 and the chorus begins, it just seems to soar in some sort of precisely melancholy way.

It kind of channels all the frustration you ever had towards anything into one simple line: "you and whose army?"

The whiny drone of nasal non-enunciation could be anyone's whining, and often is.

It is for these reasons that so many love "you and whose army?"

My ten would all be from The Bends, Kid A, and Amnesiac. I love all three of those albums, but I can't stand OK Computer or Hail to the Thief.

Yeah, I mean I just don't understand that album. At all. None of the songs hit me. I think, as I've said before, that the sequencing really fucks the album up as a whole for me, because if I pick a random song from it and play it alone, I enjoy it (although would still place it after those other three, probably).

Airbag is a terrible choice for an opener, in my opinion. That song has never hit me, and I've listened to it plenty of times. Tracks 2-6 are arranged appropriately, and are actually quite enjoyable, but then the second half just basically doesn't connect with me at all.

I'm more of a Kid A/Amnesiac type guy (especially the latter), but The Bends is still one of the best albums of the 90s.

Hmm. Interesting, I guess. It sounds like childish whining to me.

I second all that and would add that it's one of Radiohead's most triumphant and defiant songs; the release with the chorus is euphoric...
