serious change of direction for brmc. their new one is mostly acoustic guitars and harmonicas. very mellow/bluesy (almost gospel-like on some tunes).
i am really liking this one so far. anyone else heard it?

i have this on ss if anyone's interested....

I read something about this in GQ yesterday, and sounded interesting. They said BRMC takes a "pleasant turn towards Americana"

any chance of a YSI, Mr. Anchower?

I listened to the new BRMC song on iTunes. I don't know if I'd like a whole album by BRMC to sound like that. But I did like that song. A nice surprise actually because I didn't like much of the last album except for "Stop."

I'm not a BRMC fan, but the talk about this album has gotten me interested in it. Is it good, or just different?

I like this record waaaaaaay more than their 2nd one. A real "early morning" type of album.

Thanks again for the hookup!

I've listened to it a couple of times now and I really like the whole thing. It's easily the best thing they've done. I don't know if I would consider it Americana though. thanks.

Wow, this is really good so far. I wouldn't even recognize these guys if I didn't know they were BRMC.

it's good and different (from their previous two albums). i'm really liking this... especially "shuffle your feet."

i'd say a comparison of RIYL would be brian jonestown massacre "take it from the man!" that's what first came to mind when listening to this b.r.m.c. album.

This band has been on a straight downward trajectory since their debut. Not that I don't like them - I mean, I own their other two albums - but yeah, progressively worse.

i don't really think so... granted their debut was good, and the second didn't follow up very well... but this new one is a different sound, like someone else said earlier, you won't even recognize that it's brmc by listening to this album.
