You know, I gotta say that if I were in the carjacking business, I would think that big-ass working trucks would make shitty targets as a whole, compared to like honda civics or something. I mean, you Know it's probably a guy driving, you Know he probably works with his hands for a living, and pretty well Know he's got weapons on him. You have the whooooole parking lot to choose from, and you go for the one vehicle piloted by the guy with big enough balls to tell you to fuck right off, and back it up. You think the average civic driver is gonna do that?

Damn, Chris. Well done. I had no idea this kind of thing was common down there. So, is it your opinion that they pulled up behind you in order to start shit, or just became ragingly angry that you backed into them? Good thing there was no car in front of you in the lot.

They definitely set me up. That car was not there when I started backing up and their partner (the dude who ended up in my truck) was already on me as soon as they made contact with me.

He basically started swinging and screaming at me immediately. He just wasnt bargaining on us fighting back.

Yeah, well, there's way worse places off of Boulevard on the back streets, believe me. That's where one of my roommates got mugged (a gas station on Edgewood) and the other got carjacked (Krog St. bridge). I'm just saying that shit can happen anywhere in town, but of course you don't want to be in the obviously wrong places at the obviously wrong time.

And I totally understand not expecting shit like that to happen at the Local.

Overall like Yail said in the city of Atlanta this is not all that typical. Down in Clayton County, in crappy parts of Gwinnett, and Cobb are getting worse these days

word. I used to hang my hat in a much worse place (Pluma Dr. off S. Moreland in the trucking/landfill district below the E.A.V.) but shit can find you anywhere.

My crew has been robbed in every corner of Atlanta and Athens; only been mugged once though and never been faced with shit like this.

thanks for the kind words; incidentally I hate that box; not nearly as cool or convenient as my old one (but I am a total freak about my tools and related gadgets so I'm gonna complain no matter what)
