Jim Peterik.
You know, the guy that wrote and sang "Vehicle"?
He also wrote "Eye Of the Tiger" for his band Survivor, and "Hold On Loosely" for .38 Special and about a million other tunes.

Anyway, I was at the Bux on Saturday with the boys, recognized him and said "hey". Very gracious guy who, once I told him I was a songwriter, was very eager to talk. With the kids there, I couldn't really chat for long and it was mostly surface stuff.

But still, pretty cool.
He lives in the next town over from me.

The end.

Is that the same guy who sings the "Bud Light Presents" commercials that gave robotboy and myself hours, if not days, of amusement?

No.
That was the guy who was the singer in Survivor.
Peterik played guitar for them (and wrote the songs).

Those are some damn-fine commercials (for a shitty product), but I was pissed when they pussed out post 9/11 (alliteration, anyone?)and changed the title from Real American Heros to Real Men Of Genius. The terrorists have already won.

He's currently working on songs for Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell III.

Must be nice to be able to make your living writing and playing...
He also plays fest around the Chicago area with members of Ides Of March. I'm thinking I'll go check them out sometime soon. Next week they're playing at another nearby suburb.

He's a friend of my dad's. Him and one of my dad's best friends run some little record studio or some crap like that.
