I believe Curt is the man in front.

The one on the far left. "Move On Up" is one of the greatest songs ever recorded. God bless Curtis!

As spectacular as his solo stuff was, I am a sucker for The Impressions' stuff.
"People Get Ready"
"Amen"
"Gypsy Woman"

That is some seriously amazing shit that I think a lot of people take for granted.

I've never heard any Impressions stuff, but Superfly and Curtis are great.

The Impressions are less funk, more Soul. A lot if it has a definite gospel feel. Think: Motown goes to church on the South Side of Chicago. Get yourself a good collection of their singles and you will not be sorry.

Impressions are great, solo Curtis is even better. Curtis is the man, definitely one of my favorite all time artists.

There's No Place Like America Today is finally getting reissued this month after years of my waiting and finally breaking down and buying it on ebay earlier this year. Rest of yous should pick it up though.

His label, Curtom, is also fantastic. They recently put out a 3 disc, 82 song box set which is probably going to be one of my next pickups.
