Neva Dinova - The Hate Yourself Change

This is strong work from an Omaha band that has been around for a while, but only recently gained attention. Very melodic country-influenced rock, not unlike My Morning Jacket, with a sound that might be favorably compared to a melodic Bright Eyes. The band is tight and Bellows has an excellent voice for this sort of thing. Several standout tracks keep the listener interested, and overall, it is a very quality release.

Pitchfork gave it a 7, allmusic gave it 4 stars, Id give it an 82-85 on a scale of 100, and it coud easily make the top 20 this year. I had overlooked this album for a while, but now it will enter the rotation for sure.

If anyone wants to get a copy of this, let me know.

These guys our awesome, I have seen them multiple times. They are one of my favorite area bands. They are playing a show here for the Lincoln Calling Festival with Orenda Fink of Azure Ray, Tilly and The Wall and David Dondero. Roger Lewis of The Good Life plays drums for them now.
The last time they played a gig here, their lead singer Jake Bellows was punched in the head by a bouncer at a bar that usually caters to the Metal crowd.
Their split album with Bright Eyes put them on the map in the last couple years.
