I think you're getting Bloc Party confused with The Magic Numbers (although I don't really believe theirs is the album of the year).

That said, Bloc Party are soooooo boring.

Pitchfork is featuring this on their 'Best New Music' section. So they reviewed it and gave it a 8.5 today, one of the best reviews I have read on Pitchfork because it actually just talks about the group:

That is a crazy statement. Never Gone by the Backstreet Boys, Chapter V by Stained, and Monkey Business by The Black Eyed Fucking Peas came out this year. You're saying you like two of these albums better than Silent Alarm. But you seem to post crap like this all the time.

This was from a month ago now, but obviously, any statement I make is going to be MY opinion from MY point of view. Just like everyone else on this board, I don't listen to any of the artists you mentioned, so they're obviously not included when I say something like that.

If YOU make a "Worst of 2005" list, for example, do you put these albums you've mentioned on your list even though you've never heard them? Of course not. Your accusations are completely irrelevant and ridiculous.

This doesn't apply to just you, but who in their right mind makes a "worst of" list? I won't listen to something I don't like enough to rank which is actually worse.

Bloc Party is a pretty fuckin good band. Live and on their record.

I certainly don't, but plenty of people do, both critics and regular music fans. Please don't tell me you've never seen one.
