I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you have The Sentence

dOOdz, not every Haitian has HIV/AIDS...

very true.

and not every Haitian drives a cab or works for a lawn service. This girl was [and prolly still is] HOT. last i heard, she was on her way to NYC to work in the fashion district.

All of this recent Pink Floyd talk reminds me of my freshman year when I was really really into Pink Floyd. I'd listen to Animals, DSOTM, Atom Heart Mother, Piper At the Gates of Dawn, and Saucerful of Secrets on nearly every car trip home or to Chapel Hill. Usually freaked out my friends with the weirder albums (Saucerful and AHM), though I did have one friend who really liked PF and dug Animals when I played it for him. Good (but confusing) times for me.

The thing about nostalgia that I find interesting is that I sometimes feel it for moments in my life when I know I was unhappy.

This is actually very true. I spent 9 months in the Spofford Juvenile Center and it was fuckin' hell. I was makin' like O'Reilly from Oz just tryin' to survive.

Yet, I think back on some of those kids fondly now and hope they got their act together. Also, there was one custodian in particular who through a combination of ass kicking and talking changed my life. I've tried to contact him for years with no success.

Never understood the folks who said high school and college were the worst years of their lives. Holy smokes, what great years they should have been.. women, drinking, learning... sure there were injustices and idiocy, but if you didn't take advantage of what hs and college was about and found your niche or any type of personal success, you sure the hell won't find it in the "adult" world.

ah, to be in shape, no real responsibilities, and getting laid... good times

/season ticket holder in basketball and football at my collegiate alma mater even tho it's been suck for too long.

Absolutely. Freshmen year in college was insane. But I like things just fine now.

College was great.

High school: If you knew my parents at the time, you'd know why I couldn't get away with the things shadenfreudenfrooffroof says we should all have engaged in. And lived, anyway.
