someone posted the original version of Coldplay's (by way of Kraftwerk) 'Talk' on Obner a couple of months ago, and i only just heard it again, after only hearing the sparser album version for the last few months. So i concluded, the album version is no where near as good, and is the embodiment of what is wrong with Coldplay's new record. They're just trying too hard to go for the 'Eno' sound, and have these stupid ambient effects flowing gratuitously through every song. The original Talk is stripped back, and a lot better (but still is a Kraftwerk rip). That is all.

agreed that the original version is better, but disagree regarding the "ambient effects".

1) I like the "Eno" effect Coldplay were trying to create on X&Y.

2) A lot of people still don't know this, but Eno actually performs on the album.

3) I prefer the album version of "Talk." Then again, I'm into the production on SP's Machina, so production wankery is my thing.
