This sucker ain't dying out. Path completely depends on two factors:

1)Speed that the storm moves.
2)High pressure system now over SE US.

Faster the storm moves + longer the high pressure stays = more westerly landfall.
Slower the storm moves + faster the high pressure moves east = more northerly landfall.

And all combos in between.

They're actually saying it'll still be CAT 1 when it rolls through DALLAS on Sunday!!! Holy shit!

They're giving every possible scenario because I don't think they know what it's actually going to do.

My brother is in Cancun which is getting some of the storms supposedly and is a bit south of the pathway.

My mom is going apeshit. She wants him to get out of there. So she's making me call him on my lunchhour(I'm the only one with the number of where he's at) to make sure they're ok.

Gotta admit, I'm a little worried too.

one of my prof's kids was teaching in New Orleans - got evacuated to Houston to teach kids there that were evacuated from Newe Orleans - now she is being evacuated somewhere else.

You know, it's too bad those evacuees don't get frequent flier miles.

If you go to the home page there are photos from Texas. Hwy 45 is clogged with people evacuating.

You folks in this things path batton down the hatches and hold on. I'll be praying this thing weakens before it gets there.

Yeah, this happened at the peak of rush hour this morning, right where the double-sided northbound traffic from Houston was being reverted back to one side of the highway just south of Dallas. Not. Good.

That's a recipe for disaster...horrific...
