My Bloody Valentine
Something German

forgive me if I'm way off base

Intriguing. I'd probably sub out Pixies for Swervedriver or Wilco. Something German for DJ Shadow...I mean, German music ain't the greatest. But yep, the other 3 for sure.

I shoulda known better to have DJ Shadow on there, and Wilco was definitely a thought, between them or the Pixies, i chose Pixies 'cause of geography

TimmyJoe - Nada Surf - CollectiveSoul - Weakerthans - ? - ?

While I do love, Nada Surf - Let Go, and The Weakerthan's last disc, I'd probably have to wait to put them in my favorite artists category until they impress me with an entire catalog.

I'd probably go:

1. Collective Soul
2. Cult (not so much lately since they released their last album which I did not love, but it grew on me, and they promptly imploded after theri tour with Aerosmith fell apart and Ian went to sing with the Doors.)
3. Crystal Method (this music I put on when I am on a mission to get some work done, or drive fast)
4. Kent (these guys are probably the most current relevant band out there for me. I just wish I could understand the lyrics.)
5. INXS (not so much lately, as their last disc was 1997 and that tv show was a stinker)

6. U2 (but not so much lately. I have a ton of their stuff, and listen to it when it comes out, but the overplay on the radio makes me not put in the discs as often, except Joshua Tree)

I'd probably sub Zappa for the Surfers b/c I can put a lot of jam/jazz and weirdo shit under the Zappa umbrella.

LooGar:
Stones
Outkast
NWA/Ice Cube
John Cash
Ike Reilly

I can live with the first 3. Joe Strummer is summed up with the Clash. Some Dylan, J. Cash, blues, reggae, britpop would be right on. Tough for anyone to do this, but I guess that's the point.

Steve

edit:I just got the Big Audio Dynamite thing. I need some coffee.

Steve is the dude who when I look at NP, I think "I wish I was hanging out with him today" the most

It really irks me that FT seems to have placed himself into the Obner consciousness as the premier authority on Steely Dan present on the boards when infact it's me.

Tut-tut, young Frew...I was listening to Aja back when you were still suckling from your mum's teat. Of course, you were no doubt nursing to the sublime strains of "Black Cow." I'll be Obner's U.S. Steely Dan grand poobah, and you can have Western Europe plus Scandinavia.

Becker ain't got nothin' on David Palmer.

Check. Mate.
