Firefox started installing an automatic update for FlashGot, so i went to get osmething to eat, came back, and Firefox was closed. I opened it, only to be greeted with the message 'The program must close to allow a previous installation attempt to complete. Please restart.'

I rebooted my computer, opened Firefox, and got the same message, and was once again denied access.

Anyone ever have this problem? Any help is much appreesh'd.

Do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete and see if Firefox is listed as a running process. If so, end it.

This is unlikely, though, since you've rebooted your computer. It shouldn't be running in the background.

nah i tried this. There's no firefox-related processes running either.

I actually had this problem last night. It was "solved" by uninstalling Firefox, opening Internet Explorer, and downloading Firefox again.
