My gateway band into Indie/College/"Weird" music back in 1987.
I've seen them live a couple of times – the first show of which was one of my all-time favorites.
Give it up for the psych kings of the desert, Curt, Chris, and Derrick.

I prefer Huevos to Up on the Sun.

That band for me was the Violent Femmes followed closely by REM; those wacky Summer Camp counselors and their groovy "college rock"

Like the Puppets. II is certifiable.

I really dug their more "modern" sound, like "I Am A Machine" and that one where he says a lot of words real fast.

That's "Sam" from Forbidden Places and one of my kids' favorite songs.

Yeah, that's it! I was thinking "Tom" or "Tim" or something...

I don't dig the country side of their sound as much.
