When do you guys usually say "hmm, ya know, I should really go home?" I tend to try and tough things out, but that usually only makes matters worse.

if i'm sneezing, or have the chills [fever], i get the fuck outta there. no need to expose my coworkers to my potential sickness.

As soon as I feel absolutely deadly and realize I'm no good to be around, i.e. extremely unproductive or making mistakes because of feeling miserable.

Also if it's something that is more then likely contagious. Coughing, sneezing, sore throat and you're sharing phones etc.

I haven't gotten really sick in years. the only time i've left early or called out legit is when I a)got industrial cleanser on my cornea b)got stitches, twice, and c)massive ear infection. other than that, I have my drinking and smoking to thank for my robust immune system.

I take "mental health" days when I need them. I think I have like 200 hours of sick time. Might as well take some time off and get paid.

Also, when I am really sick, I usually go home when I get the raging headache that won't allow me to concentrate.

I took a mental health day today. I still have sick days left from last year, so I figured I would take the day off to watch Maury and buy CDs + crap for my computer.

I don't think I've ever gone home sick from work. I usually just never go in if I'm too sick.

I'm not usually doing any work anyway so it's not like going home would change anything.

One time I fainted at work (a low blood pressure problem) and the nurse made me go to bed in the medical room and sleep for a while. That was pretty good, actually being in bed sleeping at the office.

Interestingly enough, I'm at work with horrible bronchitis and flu symptoms. Thank goodness for strong meds to make me feel like today has been a blur. I've no idea what I'm gonna do when I have to fly up to SF on Friday. :(
