I'll most likely be going to a Hastings and exchanging CDs for all of these. They do 4 for 1 trades there. I have about 24 to exchange (they even take promos)...

Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine
Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better...with
Ladytron - The Witching Hour
My Morning Jacket - Z

If I have some leftover...

Liz Phair - Somebody's Miracle
Andy Bell - Electric Blue

I don't know Broken Social Scene but see them name checked here all the time. What do they sound like and what's a good listening example? I tend to get them confused with British Sea Power for some reason. Another group I am not sonically not familiar with.

Ugh, I just heard some of the new Twista and it doesn't sound that great. Oh well.

I think that's a hat box, if I'm not mistaken. But still, I get what you mean.

LOL...well, the Goth Tribute to Prince had Rebecca Romijn on it, as well as a bunch of artists I've never heard of, so...there's a chance of that...although I doubt it (she did "Little Nicky", which, I suspect, was a one-off)...

I have a 24-track sampler of that Girl Group box set, and it's pretty damned sweet, actually.

I am but I didn't say that. I've never heard Ladyton. I believe this was supposed to be Dalen's quote.

As far as I know (at least in the stores 'round these parts)

I picked up the new BSS and MMJ today. I'm on the first pass on the BSS and like it so far. And mine did come with the EP.

I ended up getting the following for free (well...via trade ins):

Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine dual disc (Some of these versions aren't improvements, some are - that's my assessment.)

Andy Bell - Electric Blue (Fuck, I don't know why I'm bothering listing this here. Haven't cracked this open yet, but I'm an Erasure fan so I'm sure there will be something I'll like.)

Liz Phair - Somebody's Miracle (I liked 3 or 4 songs from her last so I figure there may be a few decent pop numbers on this. I do miss the 90s Liz though.)

Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have it So Much Better (Haven't opened it yet, but I'm sure it will be danceable.)

Gang of Four - Entertainment! (Unless you count seeing them at Coachella, I finally popped my Gang of Four cherry by purchasing this....Now all I have to do is like it.)

My Morning Jacket - Z (Liked a few songs from It Still Moves but it didn't blow me away. I'm hoping this will be better.)

What's a good Broken Social Scene record to start with? For some reason I thought they were an older band but allmusic says they started in 1999.
