This shit is fascinating. From Mark Simonson's Notebook where I was linked to this guy's work: An ambigram is a form of lettering in which a word or phrase can be read in more than one direction. Or it may be two words combined into one image in which only one can be seen at a time, depending on how you look at it..

He also has some logo work and paintings on the site, all of which are cleverly arranged to mix words and meanings and messages while remaining easy on the eyes. Good shit.

Here's a website for Scott Kim, who was publishing these kinda things on the Omni magazine Games page back in the early '80s.

Omni was a great magazine until it went insane and started seriously publishing things like "How to Tell If You've Been Abducted by Aliens."

The latest Paul McCartney features one of these for his name (on the slip cover of the deluxe edition and on the CD for the regular. It's pretty cool. Not sure if it's this guy who did it or not . . . CD is all the way over there . . . oh, okay, fine . . . well, great, after all that effort to roll three feet to my right, they don't list a name for the logo. Now I'm exhausted.
