What do you think of the Deerhoof?

It's a lot more accessible than their older work (Milk Man possibly excluded), but it's still fucking great. I can't tell how it ranks with the rest yet, though.

Ive never heard any of their albums before this. It's good but nothing I would rush out to buy. How does this compare to their other albums in sound?

The new one has a lot less dissonance and weird time signatures than their past work. It's more of a pop record.

I dunno, there's plenty of wierdness on the new one. Certainly no less than on their last 3. I would say that their best stuff rocks a little harder (especially Reveille), but the new one is nicely varied. It's maybe my third favorite record of theirs, just behind Apple O'. It might even be better than that.
