I made a stupid purchase today.

I was in Tower, and having heard how great the live Cream DVD was, I decided to finally pick it up.

Ugh. Never did like Clapton, and Baker is pretty damn sloppy, playing as old as he looks. Jack Bruce ain't bad (he looks the most enthusiastic), but the whole thing just seems like a rip. :roll:

Sounds pretty damn good, though. Oh joy- we get to hear Born Under A Bad Sign and Stormy Monday again for the bazillionth time. :cry:

Grrrr. Why didn't you guys warn me??? :?:

Really? That's surprising - I've seen nothing but rave reviews for this set. I would have picked up both the DVD and CD (same songs, different performances) but just find myself not in a Cream mood right now, and then came to the realization that I really don't find myself in a Cream mood all that often, and when I do, I can listen to the excellent Masters of Reality disc (with Sunrise on the Sufferbus) you sent me, or the two Ginger Baker Trio albums (with Bill Frisell and Charlie Haden) because what I like most about Cream is Ginger anyway.

Yeah- that's what got me. I guess I was expecting them to have practiced more, maybe? Maybe they weren't tight to begin with- I was never a huge fan, so I'd never heard them live before.

Baker's stuff on the MoR was good, wasn't it? He was a good match for that band.

I have some Cream and used to enjoy it quite a bit, but it sorta wore out it's welcome. Guess I need to pull it out soon and see if it's something I really want anymore.
