I was speaking to my sister a few weeks ago when she informed me how sad she was about John Peels death. She then went on to mention how we (my family) had all gone to one of his birthday parties at the Stowmarket Community Center around 1983-1985 time frame.

Our good family friends the Watkins knew John quite well and brought us along to his birthday party.

I have vague memories of going to the community center as a child but do remember getting out on the dance floor and doing my stand straight up but bend one knee dance quite often.

Maybe my musical tastes were changed forever by John Peel directly in person.

Quite strange. He'll be missed.

"Exactly"
