after having read some comments on this board and the onion review of supergrass' "road to rouen," i didn't think of even trying after the disappointment from '03's "s/t" album. as things happen, i sampled it and now love everything about it! it's definately one of my top-5ers.

I'm not sure how underappreciated these albums are, but my list is:
Porno for Pyros, selt-titled and Good Gods Urge
Statistics: Leave your Name

I own both the Sonic Youth and Fugazi albums mentioned, I never really thought of them as unappreciated by the critics, but never really read their critiques either.

I put off getting this for a long time. It's really pretty good.

Also, a lot of people warned me that the new Low album was bad. One friend of mine told me otherwise, and I'm glad I listened to him.

i love that damn album.
could be that it was the first Who album i owned when i was like 8, but i still love it.

Yeah. I like Face Dances and A Quick One more than many other Who albums.

But then, I like The Kink's Sleepwalker, so whatever.

I only like things that are received well.

A couple of the middling Neil Young albums are actually not bad, Stars and Bars included.

It's definitely got some good stuff (esp. Daily Records, Another Tricky Day), but then again I don't hate any Who album.

Of the two post-Moon albums, I actually prefer "It's Hard"--fewer underachievers, and a couple of ace Entwistles to boot.

Yeah, I was thinking of this for this topic, too. A lot of bashing around the internet, but not so much from critics.

NIN - [With Teeth]. Not a classic or anything, but way better than I expected. Can't get it out of my head.

With Teeth is great. It takes a few listens to grow on you like The Fragile, but you eventually realize that Reznor yet again produced a quality record. I think the effect of creating a traditional "drums, bass and guitar" band was an interesting take; however, I hope he adds more electronics to the next release.

I wouldn't be comfortable with NIN leaving the synths behind forever, especially considering the fact that I think The Downward Spiral and The Fragile were some of the best rock albums of the last 20 years.
