Me neither.

But I took a chance and bought this guy's album for a buck and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It came out in 2004 on V2 records. He does well-crafted indie singer-songwriter type of tunes. If you like Michael Penn, or even the Wallflowers you'd probably enjoy this. I'll post a song or two if there's any interest. Any Obner love?

He used to come to Ruston, La. all the damn time. I saw him a couple times, but then started avoiding the crowd whenever he came around. Not terrible from what little I remember, but he didn't exactly blow my skirt up either.

I also remember a good number of people saying he was a pretty decent guy, and he seemed to tour very frequently, so I got no probs with him getting a little return on his hard work.

This guy used to be huge at LSU around 97'. Had some really decent songs. He used to be pretty friendly, and then all of a sudden he turned into Mr. Rockstar. He went from a huge draw to like 20 people. My roommate had everyone of his cds.

Dude, our worlds are colliding again I think.

Is this the same Andrew that lives in Athens?

He played with him for a long time and stopped when Mars turned into an open alcoholic/drug addict? He's been doing some session drumming in Athens and playing with Mars again I think. I know he played drums for Mars when they made an appearance on Conan years ago.

If it's the same dude he's a friend of mine. I hung out with him all the time my last year at UGA.

Also an open animal.

Yep, the same Andrew. One of the best drummers I know. I've known him for a couple of years. He used to live with my buddy Travis while he was in Nashville.

Got the CD a few weeks after it came out, and it made my top 20 list of 2004. Good stuff. He released an EP a few weeks before too that was pretty good, a couple of the same songs but not entirely. "Try So Hard" is still my jam on the record.
