That they didn't allow themselves to buy any CDs at all? I'm going to try to go all of November without buying a single album, especially with Christmas coming up the following month. I'm also going to try to sell a few albums and save up some money.

If I actually make some money on Ebay, it will be really tough not to turn and spend it on new albums I want. We'll see how it goes.

I once tried to give up CD buying for Lent, but I only lasted about a month.

I haven't bought one in a while and seem to be going through a phase in which I just don't feel motivated to find a new CD or buy what people are talking about. It'll end soon enough, I'm sure.

I did it last year, and as timmy said, it kinda backfired. I bought nothing in July and then a ton of shit in August.

The best way to cut back is probably to set a very specific budget. If you're buying nothing now, make sure you decide on some kind of cap for what you'll spend later.

I go thru periods when I'm not in the mood to buy music. It usually lasts for about a couple of weeks. But I've never made it a goal to see how many months I can go without something I love so much.

At this point, I only buy two-to-four cd per month. Mostly because I've stopped going to record-stores and use the cinema as my principle entertainment.

That said, I don't spend nearly as much going to movies as I did on cd back in '98 and '99.

I only buy 5 or 6 a month now and most of them are used or from discount sites/stores. (Course there's station comp duplicates that wind up at my "auxiliary office")

When the Powerball comes, I'm buying up everything.
