Excellent show. I was crushing on the singer/violinist, but my buddy said she looked like a corpse. Maybe he was right.

Fun show. Good energy. Good crowd.

OH! Best thing.... No smoking as per Colin's request. Take it, smokers! Can't wait for the day when I can go to a show and not reek of smoke afterwards. Assholes..

uh, yeah...

Great show. Fun whale. Fun exercises.

Also, he seems to have some kind of beef with B. Gibbard. Seems there's no love lost there. Strange.

Sloppiest/worst post ever?

No smoking!!! That's great!!

Smoking just got banned here in bars / resturaunts, and the smokers are trying to recall elected officials they're so pissed. I, on the other hand, could not be happier.

Sounds like the show I saw last spring... damn good. Violinist Was cute...

I love smoke-free clubs. I've had many opportunities to see the Decemberists... maybe I should check them out eventually.

Fun whale?

I'm glad to see this being the growing trend. I've avoided bar shows (and bars) for most of my adult life because I simply cannot handle being in heavily smoke-filled places. The businesses complain that they'll lose business because of the smokers going elsewhere, but they forget: there's a LOT of us who've done as I have who would love to come out to shows.

Isn't the violinist with them now Petra Haden?

Jeez, it is... And looking at that picture, I think my friend was right... EE Gad!

Maybe it was the shot of Tequila, 2 screwdrivers, and the L.I. Iced Tea that was doing it.

To be fair, that's a terrible picture of Petra. She IS adorable.

Was the whole bit about Ben Gibbard about how Colin had the glasses WAY before Ben and how Ben's aren't actually prescription glasses? He went off on that here in Asheville.

A few days later I saw the most recent Death Cab video and Ben's appearance looked like he was copying Colin. Same glasses, same hair, same clothing choices, etc. It was pretty funny.

At the Asheville show it just seemed like good-natured ribbing or something. He also went off about Ryan Adams, but that was apparently because Ryan Adams came out and played with them last time there were in Asheville (April maybe?)

Just curious was it a show w/ Cass McCombs opening? If so, how was it?!
