He's playing here in a couple of weeks and Mark Geary's opening for him. I've never heard of him or his music. Anybody want to shed some light on his talent?

I like Focault alot, he collaborates and tours with one of my faves, Peter Mulvey, and another fave, Kris Delmhorst. The three of them have a pickup group called Redbird. I would reccomend his show if you like thoughtful, lyric driven, story telling kinds of folks songs with a good melodic sense.

Anything else you want to know? All of the above mentioned artists are on an east coast folk label called Signature Sounds.

yeah, I found your earlier posting on the label show a while back. I really dig Mark, so was just wondering if this guy was worthwhile or not. I dig the quieter folk songs when I put my mind to it. The show's only $12 so how could I go wrong?

edit: and thanks, Phil! :)

I've got his Miles From The Lightning cd from last year (I think)...I like it- pretty much as already described- nice baritone voice, good story-songs, pretty decent picker, too. I'd definitely drop $12 to see him.

If he is anything like Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum, he will play dull songs for entirely too long, and you'll walk out before the end.
