I don't think this is historically correct. According to wikipedia it was originally to conserve resources during wartime.

I don't get it. Were we conserving resources by having farmers work later?

I went to college in Arizona where they didn't have daylight savings time and didn't mind it. However, mid-season all the cable shows would changes times and nobody I talked to from other states could ever remember what time it was in Arizona.
