Anytime I listen to KEXP and Galaxie 500 or Luna come on, I am drawn to the song, and have to check the site to see/confirm who it is/what song.

But I have never brought myslef to explore these groups as a whole. I have had Luna Bewitched since high school, which I love...but beyond that, I rarely find myself saying "Man, I wanna hear some LUNA

Anyone else have similar experiences with other bands?

There are tons of bands I like but don't own any albums by, including Luna. There are tons of CDs I own that I rarely feel the need to listen to, despite liking them.

So... yes.

Happens all the time, but I have a tendency to stumble across them in the used bin, but when I get them home, I don't really put them on much.

I'm listening to KEXP now. I liked that Luna song, as well as the Moving Units song that followed it. I wrote them both down on my list of bands to further check out someday, which I'll hopefully/probably do in the near future.

My problem is I usually forget the names of bands I hear on KEXP, so now I'm trying to keep a list handy. Plus I feel the need to make lists for everything, it's a little weird.

First post of the new board.

I have this happen with Yo La Tengo. I hear their songs every now and then and like it but I only own "I can hear the heart beating as one".

Superchunk also. Another band that I have a couple of records by that I really should have more.

This happens to me with bands I mostly hate, who happen to have a redeeming song or two. Oasis was in this category till this last album, which is pretty damn good, and now they get some slack from me.

Yeah I remember you asking "WTF is this when Bloor and I were jamming to (What's the Story) Morning Glory" when you were last down at Redlands.

Their first 2 albums are generally considered MUCH better than anything else they have done, BTW

If you don't have it already, Loogar, you need to get your hands on Oasis' The Masterplan. It's a collection of B-sides and other songs that were written by Noel when he was churning out great song after great song. To this day many American Oasis fans have never heard these tunes which in many ways are as good as anything found on their first 2 albums.

I also highly recommend The Masterplan. Some brilliant songs on there. One of my all time Oasis faves is Talk Tonight.

Loog, I can hook you up with it later on.

That'd do it.

We still in the stone ages, crashing with friends, until we buy our place in a few weeks. Current place has no int-ger-nets. So YSI, if I had my druthers, and I can download it tomorrow...? Awesome.
