Really? Electric Version gave the Meadowlands and Guitar Romantic a real run for my 2003 record of the year. I think the production is amazing on that album. "From Blown Speakers" is just incredible

Yeah, that song "The Laws Have Changed" and "Testament To Youth In Verse" are really just crazy good.

Electric Version is their best record but all three are really good.

I really really enjoyed Electric Version and I'm a fan of Twin Cinema as well. A C Newman has a knack for writing pop songs.

I listened to Mass Romantic once and it didn't do much for me. It was nice and kind of fun, but nothing really stuck nor drew me back. Haven't heard a single note of them since.

Yeah, his solo disc is worse than any of the New Pornographers albums, but it was still pretty good.

I was just about to post this. Timmy you have obviously gone completely insane.

I would suggest that if you didn't like AC's solo rekkid then you won't like Twin Cinema.

His solo album is worse than the NP stuff, but only because it was inferior material. To say he needs Neko is off the mark. He writes all the songs, and many other female vocalists could sing them. Now the pornographers would NOT be the same without Bejar, on the other hand.

i think the 3 NP albums are quite consistent - pretty much equal quality in my book.

The AC Newman solo album is pretty good but a notch or two below the NP albums.

Neko Case solo albums are ahead of both NP and AC Newman albums, however.

Really? You like Neko's solo stuff better? I haven't really heard any of her solo albums. Aren't they on the alt. country side?

A banner day. We agree on two things. Good on ya.

I read someone describe the first NP album as "completely filled" as in every where there can be sound, there is, and I think that's an aprt description of why it is so immediate, in your face, and good, and the other 2 while good, just don't measure up.

Yes, they are more alt-country. But that doesn't make them any less awesome. Blacklisted may be one of my favorite albums ever.

I love this album, although I can kinda relate to those who say it's pretty forgettable. I don't find myself humming the songs like their previous work but it still blows me away whenever I listen to it.

i am not a huge power pop fan - more of an alt-country fan so that's why I prefer Neko's solo work.

It's a very enjoyable album.
And none of the songs stick with me as soon as I take the CD out.
Not even after about 30 listens this year.

same here. i enjoy listening to it, but after it finishes, i can't remember a single lick.

Me too...I sense a trend. I like the album a lot when I listen to it, but let's face it, an instantly forgettable album isn't a great sign. 'Letter from an Occupant' stayed with me for weeks. So did 'The Laws Have Changed'. I'm listening to this album shortly to remind myself.

The Bones of an Idol and The Jessica Numbers has been in my head all day. I think I've got to mix me up a multi-Porn playlist.
