i saw sam champion last night and was really very impressed with them. some of their songs sound exactly like pavement, so that's probably the best way to describe them. i saw them with longwave earlier this year and didn't think much of them, but they were really on last night. solid show. anyone else seen/heard them?

oh, and paper airplane pilots sounded real good too. my friend had never heard them before and walked out a fan.

last night was also the first time i've gone out late during the week since starting a new job that has me in the office rather early. it was kind of a test-run to see how well i'd do since shout out louds are tonight and that'll probably go even later. so far, so good.

I have the Sam Champion album, listened to it a few times. Overall not bad at all. I would have to say I enjoy it. I'd rather see them though then watch the weatherman they're named after on tv (please don't kill me sam if your reading this).

They are playing a show in Omaha soon with Eagle*Seagull, and up and coming band from Lincoln. I hadn't really read or heard anyone really talk about Sam Champion until today.

sam champion has always been the best nyc weatherman name. running at a close second was the mysterious "mr. g" of channel 11. the band sounds interesting too.

I bought this on a whim after you guys hit my musical G spot with the Pavement word. Waiting for it to arrive.
