HELP ME OBNER!

Ive seen Elvis quite a few times, and every time he's great. This most recent show here in Atlanta with Emmylou Harris was beyond fantabulous.

In 25 minutes should I buy tix to see him at the Fabulous Fox Theatre with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra? Is this a bad idea? I know Roger Daltey and The Moddy Blues do these Symphony shows.....

To me, this would be an intriguing show to go see, but it also depends on the price.

So I would say yes, but I'll let others weigh in on this.

I agree. Depends on what day the show is and how much it is. If it's over $50 I'd probably pass.

I think it would be good though. A lot of his stuff would work well with a symphony especially the Imperial Bedroom era stuff. He's such a good musician that I don't think he would let it suck.

Difference being that EC writes good music these days. On the other hand, God help you if he decides it's a Burt Bacharach kinda night.

If you can afford it, fuck it - go. It's just money - you'll make more.

Metallica did one, and I know Collective Soul have one coming up.

I think deep down you know the answer.

(Side note: it'll probably come out on DVD, so if you wanna try to find yourself in the crowd then go, or maybe save money on the tickets and just buy the dvd, it's up to you.)

Exactly, I would be pissed if he spent all night doing Bacharach, or materal from the Juliette Letters (his mid nineties chamber music album).

No doubt the time has elapsed, but I wonder if the show was along the lines of his "Il Sogno" album? If so, I would pay to see that. I dig Costello, so just to see him do anything would be worthwhile.

Someday I will adopt this attitude.

But not like Monday or nothing.

If you'd be pissed I wouldn't go because that's the sort of stuff I'd expect him play with an orchestra unless you've read differently. I like both of those albums when I'm in the mood for them and they'd fit an orchestra better than most of his material.

That said I probably wouldn't go. It has to be something I REALLY want to see to go to a sit down type show.

Obviously, the "can afford it" is the central part of the philosophy.
