On Jimmy Kimmell....

Not the exactly the best representation of how they are live but fun nonetheless. But his vocals don't sound as cool without the effects.

I was sort of let down by their last album...

It's from their live performance on Jimmy Kimmell which I believe occurred in June 2005. The song is from their album that came out last year.

I'm sure it's a lot better if you're standing in the audience.

I've actually been spinning all their stuff lately when I've been working out. I fucking love it!

np: La Ley-Unplugged (best unplugged album)

Yeah I'd imagine it would make for good work out music - but I've never tried that.

Yeah, funny you should mention that. On their last album, there is a video clip of them recording, and he was singing, and he was god awful without running it through a million effects. It wasn't even the same pitch, etc.

I haven't seen that vid. And he's not exactly pitch perfect on Jimmy Kimmell. But, I've never really noticed a big problem with his vocals the 3 times I have seen them live, and I am generally irritated by flat vocals. What pissed me off about the last time I saw them was how sludgey the mix was overall. The bass player was turned up way too loud to where it was overpowering the drums and making the speakers "fart." I was thinking "how can someone not hear that this sonic abomination is occurring?" The first 2 times I saw them, the mix was perfect.
