yeah, same with me. they hardly even did anything apart from standing there. i think albert did a windmill at one point and i thought people were going to lose their minds. uh, c'mon. and some girl said that they were her favorite band. i said, "how can you have a favorite band with only one album?" she was like, "they just are!" it's also the only show other than tom jones where i've seen underwear thrown onstage.

it also might've been that the venue (axis) sucks, as i'm sure a few other boston folks will back me up.

Yeah, that was a pretty shitty show all around, if memory serves...had a good chat with what's his face, the drummer, but the only other fun factor was when Julian groped Velouria. That was hahahahilarious.

I saw them a few more times on other peoples' dimes and good god, what a boring live band. One of the few instances where a KILLER LIGHT SHOW! made sense.

edit: servers, serves...

The Flaming Lips.

That's right. Of course I saw them almost 2.5 years ago and never saw them during their formative years or in the 1990s. Just the whole rehearsed show, same set every night thing didn't really gel with me.

Calexico are in my top 10 favourite bands to see live ever.

New Order are inconsistent live -- sometimes they're great, sometimes they suck. Impossible to make generalizations.

I would have to add Kraftwerk, except they are pretty entertaining live, the first time you see them (or thereabouts).

Stereolab, I guess. But I was also sick as a dog, so maybe I missed the goodness. Usually if I like a band at all I'll like the show.

The ever crabby Van Morrison, sorta.

Oh yeah, Cat Power goes here.

when i saw them in september, they put on one of the most intense shows i've seen this year. it wasn't a lot to look at apart from the singer's (drunken) antics during certain songs, but they played incredibly tight. everyone i was with that night has said it's at least a top 10 of the year for them. and these are mostly people who go to a show or two each week.
