I'm selling a batch of my CD's on EBay. Christ, that was a nice waste of 2.5 hours.

I hope someone pays me over 20 bucks for this Duran Duran "Medazzaland" cd. It's supposedly rare and out of print but I keep seeing them all over the place here.

Other stuff that is apprarently "rare" now:

Michael Hutchence - s/t (is this because he killed himself?)
Duff McKagen - Believe In Me (wtf? When was this piece of crap worth anything?)

I hate selling stuff on eBay...I tried to unload my Nintendo & a bunch of games there a few years ago. All I got was 2 different idiots who won the auction but didn't pay. That's right - it happened twice.

I finally said "fuck it" & traded it in for credit at FuncoLand. Made out better, anyway.

Yeah, if this doesn't pan out I'll be selling them off to Reckless Records on Broadway in Chicago come this January. I'm not sending any of my shit off until I have confirmation that they've paid me.

I wish we had a Funcoland or an Amoeba here...I come across a lot of albums here for like 2 or 3 bucks that nobody else seems to be interested in.

Leaderboard:

That Michael Hutchence s/t cd. I've already got a $9.99 bid on it.

Nice.

The only time I've sold a CD on eBay was when I had an extra copy of Redd Kross's "Neurotica" - the original release...this was before it was reissued. Paid $10 for it in the record store, sold it for $30.

I've got a couple others that I've thought about selling, though...like a BRMC promo EP that seems to go for a decent amount. I got my copy for 5 bucks.

i've always had good luck with selling things on ebay.

i had 12 different 3-cd phish releases that would've only granted me $20 TOTAL from the local record exchange.

i refused that and took them to ebay and got between $17 and $25 A PIECE.

Yeah, that CD deal I did went fine. I guess my NES experience tainted me on the whole deal.

I should go see what that BRMC EP is going for...

I just sold a a couple airline collectibles for a tidy profit. Netted enough to pay for my carburetor. I loves me some eBay. One day, if things get really depserate, I'll liquidate my Dutch EMI pressing of "Anarchy In The UK" w/ Pic Sleeve for multiple hundreds.

It's also a great free place to see what your rarities are worth. Very easy to search for stuff and see what folks are payin'.

I'd sell on ebay more if I weren't so fucking lazy. With CDs, I like to check closed ebay auctions and prices at SecondSpin.com and then decide if either of those are the best option, or just save it for a trip to Amoeba.

Shit. I've had that Redd Kross cd in my hands before but didn't buy it because I thought it would be crap.

I still love their Third Eye album. Brilliant power pop. I wish I could find their music to the small, indie film soundtrack "1976"

Some guy from the U.K. wants to know how much I'd want for this album:

How much should I charge him for it?

Damn, there's a market for that one, it's their only crappy one, IMO. "Los Angeles" is the only decent track.

Agreed. I don't know why people would be clamoring for it. Maybe to complete their collection???

I have and love the first one:

This one's alright, not bad:

The Ian Astbury track is tremendous. Love both those albums. Saw CoP open for Iggy Pop and Janes Addiction when the debut came out. They stomped Perry flat.

I've never seen the COP debut album on CD, for some reason. I used to have it on cassette a looooong time ago.

Weird about the "Vices" request - that's a CD that I had to take to 3-4 different stores before someone would take it off my hands.

And Redd Kross "Neurotica" isn't "rare" anymore - the band reissued it a couple years ago.

I sold my Michael Hutchence cd for like $4 about 2 years ago and still feel like I ripped that dude off.

That was one of the worst cd's I have ever bought.

Edit: it looks like the cheapest one on half.com is $38. yikes!

Yeah, musically it's just a terrible album but it must be hard to find now though it's on V2 records.
